Why Take Classes?
The term “educate” comes from the Latin, educare, meaning to "bring up”, to “rear” or to “educate." It is cousin to educere, meaning to "bring out”, from ex, meaning “out" and ducere, meaning "to lead".
Ernest Holmes says "Life waits upon man's discovery of natural laws...himself and...his relationship to the great Whole". What could be more rewarding?
These discoveries bring to our lives limitless possibility, unimagined liberty, richness and meaning.
Classes, workshops and retreats help us to us to bring out our inherent knowledge of these Truths, long hidden within us. To recognize is to think again. To remember is to return to the body. The purpose of classes, workshops and retreats can be thought of as vehicles for such restoration, ultimately raising both our consciousness and our experience of every aspect of living.
To everything there is a season:
There are times when a four or eight-week class is just the thing, offering the camaraderie of a group, growing together in the understanding and practice of spiritual principles.
Principle-based support circles are also helpful in adopting new ways of living and being.
Occasional workshops provide a group setting for going deeper with a particular tool or technique, and are often attended by professionals and individuals intending to increase their skills or mastery in some area.
Retreats create the opportunity to temporarily step away from the lives we have been living, to reflect, refresh and restore. These, too, have a special focus, unique to the group, and often the seasons.
