Rev. Marcia L. MacLean has been a student of metaphysics and spirituality since 1983. Her studies led to licensure as a Practitioner and ordination as a Minister of Religious Science in the spring and fall of 2001. In early 2002, she co-founded The Wisdom Center, a Science of Mind Spiritual Community, in Black Mountain, North Carolina.
She and her co-founding Minister, Rev. Sonja K. Contois, spoke and taught weekly, worked with clients and performed weddings and other ceremonies for two years. Rev. Marcia operated the center as Senior Minister from 2004 on, until closing it for sabbatical, in the spring of 2007. The Wisdom Center is set to re-open in the fall of 2010, under the direction of Rev. Sonja, in Waynesville, North Carolina.
Having "heard the call" yet again, Rev. Marcia affiliated with International Centers for Spiritual Living in 2009. She served as Staff Minister of Youth and Special Programs at Center for Spiritual Living Cape Coral, in Florida, temporary Spiritual Director at Centre for Spiritual Living Kamloops, in BC, and on the Interim Ministry Team at Center for Spiritual Living Bellingham, in Washington. She is a Licensed Practitioner of Religious Science with both International and United Centers for Spiritual Living, a Licensed Minister with International Centers for Spiritual Living, and is seeking recognition of her independent 2001 Religious Science Ordination.
Rev. Marcia is a candidating minister and holds a letter of good standing from ICSL. Her interest is in becoming the Spiritual Director of a dynamic and innovative Center for Spiritual Living, teaching and celebrating the principles of the Science of Mind, in service, in song and in thriving spiritual community.
